Our Commitment to Community and Country
At the Locust Grove Woman’s Club, we believe that community involvement is not just important — it’s essential. Through a variety of local service projects, we strive to make a meaningful impact and support those who have given so much for our freedom.
We support our Veterans: One of the ways we honor our heroes is by hosting the Missing Man Table each year during the Memorial Day Service at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Locust Grove. This solemn and powerful display, presented by our club, is a tribute to the fallen soldiers who never returned home. Each item placed on the table holds deep symbolic meaning, serving as a heartfelt reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by so many to protect our nation.
We also support Wreaths Across America, a nationwide effort to remember and honor our veterans by placing wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes. Our members donate, volunteer, and participate in the annual wreath-laying ceremony, ensuring that no veteran is ever forgotten. In addition, we collect and donate toiletry items to our veterans throughout the year as a small gesture of gratitude for their service.
Education: Education is another area we proudly support. This school year, we are hosting a special initiative to honor the Most Improved Students in Locust Grove schools. Awards will be given in the categories of Leadership, Math, and Reading for both elementary and middle school students. We also recognize and reward students with Perfect Attendance, encouraging commitment and dedication at an early age.
Whether through honoring our military, supporting our schools, or lending a helping hand where it’s needed most, our club remains deeply committed to service. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected, and more compassionate community.
Tour of Homes – In the past, our club hosted a Holiday Home Tour. In 2026 we will once, again host a Holiday Home Tour – all proceeds will be used to support our community projects.
